Our Mission: “To preserve and maintain Rehoboth Methodist Church and grounds so that this landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, continues to have an active role in the spiritual and historic/cultural community.”
Preservation Milestones
The Society acquired title to the church in 2010, and since then has successfully been awarded several grants used for major preservation/restoration projects at the church.
In addition, offerings, fund-raisers, and donations
have helped the group address some other major projects.
Future Projects.
The Love Feast, for which Rehoboth is best known, is held the first Sunday of December at 5:00 p.m. each year. Special music, beginning at 4:30, often precedes this service. Other church services are occasionally added to the schedule.
Cultural Activities
Following incorporation in 2008, the Society hosted several cultural/historical activities including commemorative Camp Meetings with meals on the grounds, gospel groups, a celebration of Veterans on the Centennial of Veterans Day, and other music programs. Currently, the Society offers two cultural programs each year. A spring quilt or craft show is scheduled in April/May. A fall musical program is scheduled in October/November.
2022 Quilt Show
On April 30, Rehoboth's First Annual Quilt Show was a huge success. Seventy-nine quilts of all sizes filled the church, creating a colorful display of modern quilts, and family heirlooms, from crib quilts to wall hangings, and bed size quilts.
Several visitors were inspired to ask where they could learn to quilt!
A special feature of the show was a quilt raffle, made possible by a local quilter, who crafted a beautiful quilt especially for the event.
Several vendors had booths on the grounds and sold handmade stuffed animals, crocheted items, soaps, fragrant candles and wooden ware for knitters.
Food and music added to the excitement on the grounds.
The Society plans to have its second show on Saturday, May 6.
A five-member Board of Directors is the decision-making body of the Society.
The Society’s efforts offer proof that Rehoboth has indeed lived after its last members.

Rehoboth Church is primitive and plain, charming, and simple. Be aware that the church has neither running water nor a bathroom. Previous wedding parties have happily rented portable facilities in order to capture the old church's historic charm. If this is what you are looking for for your Christian wedding, contact us.
